lovely Raposeira

Altos da Raposeira is a small, growing community just behind the centre of Raposeira, where there is a grocery store and cute restaurants.

Here you can relax from the stressful everyday life and free your spirit. If you are lucky, the flock of goats and sheep may pass by the house.

It is quiet but at the same time central, so that you can reach the next bigger supermarket in 5 minutes and the most beautiful beaches on the south and west coast in 10-15 minutes. This is the perfect starting point for surfers, water sportsmen and mermaids. For more hustle and bustle you can be in Sagres in 10 minutes and in Lagos in 20 minutes, where you can turn night into day in the bars.

For an evening walk, don’t miss the village of Raposeira with its narrow streets and colorful houses. Or you can stroll into the small pine forest and explore the nearby lake along the main hiking trail of the Via Algarviana. Golf resorts are also just around the corner.

Raposeira is located directly on the Costa Vicentina nature reserve, the best preserved coastal strip in Europe. This means you can expect a wide choice of beautiful sandy beaches, small bays and breathtaking cliffs. The animal and plant world is unique.

How to get there

flights

The nearest airport is Faro. It is modern and clearly arranged. Find your airline flying to Faro here. Another way is to fly to Lisbon. After a sightseeing tour in the metropolis, you reach Raposeira within 3 hours.

rental car

From Faro airport it is another 1 hour 15 minutes via the A22 to Raposeira.

bus

We recommend arriving with a rental car to visit all the beaches and sights, but there is also the possibility to arrive by bus. Take the bus from Faro airport in the direction of Faro Central Station (line 16 transport company ``próximo``). There you change to the bus terminal of the transport company EVA and take the bus to Lagos. There you change to the EVA bus in direction Sagres. The bus stops right in the centre of Raposeira. Within 15 minutes on foot you are at the house.

train

Alternatively you can take the train from Faro Central Station to Lagos.
